7 Revelations From "Melania and Me," the New Memoir of an Examiner of the US First Lady

But Melania and Me is just one of Trump's unauthorized books about her life in the White House. Among the most prominent of recent times are those of Mary Trump, the president's niece, and former National Security adviser John Bolton.

A spokeswoman for the first lady said: "The book is not only full of falsehoods and paranoia, but it is based on an imaginary need for revenge."

"Sadly, this is a deeply insecure woman whose need to be relevant defies logic."

These are some details of what Winston Wolkoff relates in his work, which does not indicate if it is written based on notes, recordings or only what he remembers.

1. The bad relationship with the "princess"

Winston Wolkoff, who has extensive experience as an event organizer for Vogue magazine, talks about the much-talked about tensions in the US between Melania Trump and her stepdaughter, Ivanka Trump.

The first lady allegedly refers to her as the "princess" and their bad relationship has been evident since Trump's inauguration, the author says.

She says she once received a text message from the first lady calling her stepdaughter and her husband, Jared Kushner, "snakes," both White House advisers.

The author was also the lead organizer of Trump's 2017 inauguration, saying in an interview Monday with ABC News that she was cooperating with investigators looking into financial crime allegations related to event expenses.

2. The "transformation of Melania"

Winston Wolkoff says his 15-year friendship with Melania Trump ended two years ago after the first lady "betrayed" her.

The first lady allegedly refused to publicly defend herself and an aide from allegations of financial mismanagement while planning the inauguration.

She thinks she was "stabbed in the back" by someone who has changed a lot in the time they have known each other.

"I witnessed the transformation of Melania from a 24-karat gold bath," writes Winston Wolkoff.

"Looking at it now and seeing that only the gold shell remains makes me wonder if that's all it ever was and if I was the fool who bought the knockoff watch on the corner," she adds.

3. "As if nothing had happened"

The author also provides details on the Trumps' private lives.

In one episode, Winston Wolkoff describes how the then-future first lady reacted in 2016 after listening to the recording in which her husband brags about being able to "take" women at will: "You can do whatever you want (to women) when you're a star, "he is heard saying.

Upon hearing of that, Trump's wife "was beaming, she was smiling," writes Winston Wolkoff. "It was as if nothing had happened."

"She knows who she married ... She knew what she was getting into and so did he," says the author, adding that she never voted in the presidential election before 2016.

4. The frown in 2017

Another of the passages addressed by Winston Wolkoff is that of the face that the first lady made on the day of Trump's inauguration, January 20, 2017.

Although it was pointed out in the press and on social networks that Melania Trump made a bad gesture towards her husband, the author explains that it was due to an incident with her son Barron Trump.

"Melania suddenly frowned and looked down and to her right because Barron had accidentally kicked her ankle," explains the author.

5. Changing shower and toilet

The book, which is dedicated to her exam, states that the first lady refused to move into the White House for five months "until the residence is remodeled and redecorated, beginning with a new shower and toilet" different from those Barack had. and Michelle Obama.

She also requested that her office be painted Middleton pink, named for colorist Catherine Middleton.

However, Trump opposed that election and the president chose to reject it and order a darker tone.

6. "Always pragmatic"

Winston Wolkoff says that a phrase that the first lady repeats frequently is: "Pleasing others is not my priority."

"Always pragmatic, she concluded that since she had no control over what people think of her, why should she care what they believe."

The author also claims that the first lady has some influence on the president.

On one occasion, she explains, Melania Trump sued her husband for trying to lift the ban on the importation of dead animals from Africa as hunting trophy, which was allegedly promoted by the president's children.

"Melania was not sympathetic to the lobbying efforts of 'the boys' for guns and hunting or the strange need to hang the head of a dead animal on the wall. That night, she did some lobbying on her own and her plea to Donald it really worked. "

The president wrote on Twitter the next day: "I have put the decision on big game trophies on hold until I review all the facts on the matter."

Put big game trophy decision on hold until such time as I review all conservation facts. Under study for years. Will update soon with Secretary Zinke. Thank you!

7. "It is more than what they have in their country"

Winston Wolkoff also refers to an episode in 2018 when the Trump administration was under criticism for the separation of children and their undocumented migrant parents.

The author reports that in a phone call, the first lady showed little compassion.

"They're not with their parents and it's sad. But the (Border Patrol) agents told me that the kids were saying, 'Wow, do I have a bed? Will I have a closet for my clothes?'" She recalls.

"It is more than what they have in their own country, where they sleep on the floor."
