Love is over. American actress Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux, actor, director and screenwriter of the same nationality, have separated after two and a half years of marriage and seven years of relationship, according to the statement they have issued jointly. In the text they explain that the decision was amicable and they made it by mutual agreement at the end of last year.
"Normally we would do this privately, but since the gossip industry cannot resist any opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to announce the truth directly," explained the couple through Jennifer Aniston's publicist Stephen Huvane.
They want to continue maintaining their "precious friendship"
According to the statement, Aniston and Theroux remain "two good friends who have decided to separate as a couple," but are looking forward to maintaining their "precious friendship."
Aniston turned 49 on February 11. In fact, the artist organized a party for the occasion in which she was surrounded by her close friends Courteney Cox, Andrea Bendewald, Leigh Kilton-Smith and Kristin Hahn, but which Theroux did not attend. The specialized magazine People recently recounted how the marriage had managed to move forward despite their busy schedules.
"Justin often spends time in New York by himself," explained a source close to the couple. “And when he is there, Jennifer takes the opportunity to see her friends and enjoy life. When they are together in Los Angeles, it is very special for both of them, ”she added.
Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux met in Hawaii while filming 'Tropic Thunder' in 2008 and began dating three years later. The couple married in 2015, shortly before Theroux turned 44.
The interpreter was previously married to Brad Pitt between 2000 and 2005 after beginning that relationship in 1998. After their divorce, Aniston had romantic relationships with Vince Vaughn and John Mayer. For Theroux, this was his first marriage after having been in a relationship with stylist Heidi Bivens for 14 years. He broke up with her in 2011.
