Melania Trump will have to decorate the White House one last time for Christmas
Melania Trump was a terrible First Lady, no doubt. It is also hard to find a list of three real achievements that he achieved as FLOTUS. The only thing I give her credit for wasn't even HER thing, I just give her credit for not plucking Michelle Obama's garden (Mel could have plucked it, but she didn't). Be Best was just idiotic hard work. Her only solo tour was Melania in a taxpayer-funded Out of Africa-themed photo shoot. He could barely put two sentences together in his speeches.
Perhaps the only thing Melania did as FLOTUS that gave anyone joy was her inability to decorate the White House appropriately for Christmas. We later found out why it was - because she doesn't give a damn about Christmas, or Christmas decorations. 2017 was Christmas with bare branches, white and gray. 2018 was the Christmas of the blood trees of destiny. 2019 was all white furniture (Power). So what will this year's Christmas decoration style be?
First lady Melania Trump will decorate the White House for Christmas one last time next month. After her husband's election loss, Christmas 2020 will be the last holiday for which Ms. Trump, 50, will be tasked with decorating the "People's House" in Washington, DC Typically cheerful holiday prep comes at a time tumultuous for both the president and the first lady. President Donald Trump, 74, refuses to concede his election loss to President-elect Joe Biden, while Ms. Trump takes over the holiday decoration after secretly taped tapes highlighted the first lady's contempt for such duties last month. .
Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, Mrs. Trump's longtime friend and former White House aide, shared the secret audio tapes with CNN last month while promoting her revealing book, Melania & Me. On the tapes, Mrs. Trump was contemptuous of the traditional role of first lady.
"I'm working ... in my favor with Christmas stuff, you know, who cares about Christmas things and decorations?" Ms. Trump hears herself on the tapes. "But I have to do it, right?"
A spokesperson for Ms. Trump tells PEOPLE that the first lady is "looking forward to reopening the People's House for Christmas" next month.
"It's an annual tradition that she has enjoyed drawing since June," says Stephanie Grisham, the first lady's press officer and chief of staff. "The furniture will be presented and celebrated all over the country in December."
Ms. Trump will carry on with the annual tradition in the wake of her husband's election loss.
I mean, do they make it look like Melania had a choice? He had no choice, nor did he really "design" this year's Christmas theme. Her office has handled everything and Mel will just pose for the photos. For one last time. But yeah, it's not like Mel could say "since my husband lost, Christmas is canceled!" You know he wants to do it though.
