Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have unleashed a storm with their political statements, expressed during the virtual ceremony organized by Time magazine, which placed the Sussexes among the 100 most influential people in the world. Buckingham Palace has run for cover on an official note that, in fact, leaves Harry to his fate.
The statement stresses that the dukes no longer have a representative role at court, therefore their statements can no longer reflect the line of conduct and thinking of the royal family. However, Prince Harry remains a Windsor and his utterances could have a considerable diplomatic weight, also because the United States is in the midst of an electoral campaign that takes place in a difficult climate.
It is not only the words of Harry and Meghan Markle that raise criticism, but also their attitude. Body language expert Judi James told the Daily Mail that the prince seems anything but confident and convinced of his speech. Analyzing the video of discord, James points out some details that could escape if we focus exclusively on the words. In fact, the expert said: "Harry is tense, you can tell from the numerous diversionary rituals. He is uncomfortable and at a certain point even seems to crack his knuckles, a gesture of self-aggression which, like biting nails, indicates a lack of tranquility ”. Then he added: "His gaze is uncertain, he knows that those sentences would have had repercussions on relations with his family of origin".
Judi James's opinion makes you think. If the expert is right and Prince Harry had doubts, why did she utter the words that are making the American, British and royal family indignant? Impossible that he did not foresee the consequences. He is a young man intelligent enough to understand the implications of his every public gesture and is too familiar with the cameras and newspapers to underestimate the situation. Meghan Markle's attitude was quite different, as Judi James pointed out: "Space is associated with power and it is evident that on the bench she takes the largest portion. She adopts a posture identifiable with control and her husband seems to step aside to leave her center stage ”.
This statement by the expert is really strong and could be used by critics of the Sussexes to argue that the dominant personality in the couple is that of the duchess or, even, that the latter manipulates her husband. We cannot say with certainty that this is the case, we have no irrefutable evidence to prove such a clear-cut thesis. However, Meghan Markle's ease is very evident and brings out even more the contrast with Prince Harry's apparent shyness. The acting career explains little of this contrast since, as we have already said, the duke is used to a life in the spotlight.
