Donald Trump's 'Made in USA' suit was made in Indonesia
Donald Trump has a distinctive style. The candidate for president of the United States from the Republican Party always appears in the same dark suit. Only the tie and hat changed styles and colors.
The coat model made many people curious. Some fans even want to have a boss like that of the eccentric billionaire. Apparently, it is not difficult to get it. Just click the Amazon shopping site.
The suit is available in the Amazon product catalog. Sold under the Donald Trump brand, the clothing is indeed Melania's husband's fashion collection.
The biggest buying and selling site gave Trump the opportunity to sell his products - after department store chain Macy's decided not to renew contracts anymore - after the billionaire made controversial remarks about Mexican immigrants.
There are several things that are written in the description in the catalog, including that the coat is "imported" or imported and "made in USA" or made in the United States. The two words contradict each other.
Apparently the online retailer was also 'somewhat confused' about where the suit was made.
Intrigued, a journalist bought it, as Liputan6.com quoted from Buzzfeed on Tuesday (23/8/2016),
"In the catalog it says the suits were imported, and made in the US. Of course that's suspicious, right? To solve the mystery, we ordered 2 coats," said Buzzfeed reporter, Daniel Wagner.
Earlier, Donald Trump boasted in front of his supporters. He vowed to return the factories that produce US brands abroad, back to Uncle Sam's country.
Trump even promised not to eat Oreo biscuits after his factory - Nabisco - decided to leave for Mexico.
However, Buzzfeed's investigation found the opposite. It turns out that Trump makes his goods overseas. The media discovered that there was a Trump shirt factory in Honduras. The workers are paid only a few dollars per day, they are sweaty in an inhuman work environment.
Despite continuing to mention the wealth of his country, the United States, including his workforce, Trump apparently did not provide jobs to his compatriots. Obviously contrary to what he said in his campaign.
Last month, Trump enrolled 78 foreign workers to work at his club in Palm Beach. Melania's husband argued that no Americans could work there.
Coming back to the matter of suits, where are they made from? Evidently...
"We opened the box, and checked the label, on top of the Trump metal label, the answer said: Indonesia," said Wagner.
To be sure, Wagner even videos clothes and brand writings made in Indonesia.
Both Amazon and Trump did not respond to confirmations about where the suits were made. The funny thing is, a buyer made a comment in the Customer Questions and Answer column. "Imported from where?", "He asked. A number of people answered Mexico or China.
At the close of the investigative video about the Republican presidential candidate's coat, journalist Wegner was a little naughty by parodying Trump's famous motto, 'Let's make America Great Again (and Indonesia too)'.
