Why do Donald Trump suits look so cheap if they cost thousands of dollars?
It is no mystery to anyone that Donald Trump likes expensive things. It is not for nothing that the billionaire tycoon who will take over as the new President of the United States from next January 20 moves in a luxurious Boeing 757, has an impressive collection of luxury cars and even owns several buildings.
However, and despite all the luxuries and eccentricities of him, an article on the current site Business Insider argues that the controversial businessman is the clear example that "money cannot buy good taste."
To illustrate this phrase, the editor of the portal Dennis Green gives as an example his taste in suits. And he is not referring precisely to the line of formal clothing that the tycoon sells through the Donald J. Trump collection, but rather focuses on the suits that the billionaire actually uses.
As reported by the American newspaper The New York Times, Trump is used to wearing suits from Brioni, one of the most prestigious Italian fashion firms in the world.
This company is characterized by its impeccable suits, which, as you can imagine, also have a high price.
Those interested in acquiring one of these suits should know that their values range from 6 thousand to 17 thousand dollars (between 4 million and 11 million 400 thousand Chilean pesos approximately). Many of these give the person a sense of power and confidence.
However, it can be difficult for many to check the finesse and elegance of these types of suits because of the way Trump wears them. And this is where another rule applies in this area: it is not what you use, but rather the "how" you use it.
According to Business Insider, one of the defects of the new president of the United States is that for some reason, he chooses suits that are too large for his size, which is evident in areas such as the sleeves.
But it's not just about size, they also emphasize the fact that Trump doesn't show much concern about caring for the expensive Brioni.
"He often (Donald Trump) wears them creased, an effect that is heightened by the type of fabric he prefers to wear," fashion expert Edward Sexton explained to the news site Jezebel. "If I were him, I'd go for good solid clothing that doesn't sag," he added.
Specialists warn that we are the ones who should wear the suit, and not that "the suits use you", which is what happens with Trump. "It actually seems like he's not enjoying the clothes that he wears, and that he doesn't take pride in his looks," Green says.
Although it is clear that being a businessman or a politician does not necessarily go hand in hand with good taste in fashion, there are those who point out that the differences on this point between Barack Obama and Donald Trump are abysmal. In this case, many highlight that the current president always looks “presidential”.
