Oops, Trump Wants to Declare Martial Law in the US
President of the United States (US) Donald Trump is again touting claims about election fraud to tackle Joe Biden's victory. He is said to have held talks with White House advisors and discussed with political allies the conspiracy to defeat on Tuesday (12/22/2020).
Trump allies have made suggestions including asking the former property tycoon to declare martial law and resuming elections in a state where he narrowly lost. Republican congressmen were also asked to call off Biden's January 2021 victory and seize the voting machine.
Trump's attorneys Sidney Powell and Michael Flynn, former national security advisers Trump recently pardoned for lying to FBI agents, are reportedly set to lead the investigation. However, there has been no comment from Powell.
Meanwhile on one occasion Flynn said that he might carry out martial law to support Trump's claim. "People are out there talking about martial law as if it is something we've never done," Flynn told conservative news outlet Newsmax last week.
Apart from Powell and Flynn, others who have pushed Trump to 'stay ahead' are White House advisers Pat Cipollone and Patrick Byrne. Specifically for Byrne, he is said to have admitted to being at a meeting with Trump's advisers Powell Flynn when they discussed the strategy.
Earlier, in the Republican-controlled US parliament, Trump had lashed out at Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. This came after Republicans in the state of Kentucky admitted Biden had defeated Trump.
McConnell also tried to block other lawmakers from starting a bid to turn things around and win over Trump. Trump's personal assistant on Monday (21/3/2020) is said to have emailed Republicans criticizing McConnell.
"Unfortunately, Mitch (McConnell) forgot. He was the first to get off the ship!" write that email.
Meanwhile, Trump continued to post Twitter posts outlining his refusal to accept that Biden had won the same day.
"DEMOCRATES CRUSHED HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF BALLOTS IN THE LATE NIGHT SWING COUNTRY," Trump tweeted yesterday in capital letters.
"THIS IS A CHOICE THAT SICK !!!"
Previously, Trump also mentioned that there would be a massive demonstration on January 6, 2021 in Washington D.C. He will join his supporters in protesting against Biden.
