But where is he going to go? While Donald Trump must leave the White House on January 20, to make way for Joe Biden and his family, the choice of his new residence seems to be compromised. He, who planned to settle permanently in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, was unpleasantly surprised to learn that the neighborhood wrote a letter of formal notice to authorities in Palm Beach, declaring that the outgoing president did not had no legal right to live there full time, reports the Washington Post.

Neighbors refer to a deal Donald Trump made in 1993 that said he would not turn his private club into a permanent residence. In other words, no guest is allowed to stay at the club for more than "three non-consecutive seven-day periods" in a year. The letter says it would be a good idea for Palm Beach officials to advise the politician that he is not allowed to live there to avoid an "embarrassing situation" in which he would be evicted from his property.

The Mar-a-Lago Residence, a mansion with 118 rooms valued at $ 7 million, had been purchased by Donald Trump in 1985. Facing financial worries, he had turned it into a private club ten years later to reap many benefits. He now finds himself unable to access the home because of an agreement he made himself. It remains to be seen whether he will follow the rules. Something he hasn't used us to do.
