Burgers vs Vets: is Trump going vegan?
You don't have to be a keen observer to know that Donald Trump isn't quite the fork in the road. Certainly the reason why the Million Dollar Vegan organization gave him an unprecedented challenge, by challenging him to make a (big) effort for American Veterans!
Donald Trump's love for junk food (and the Big Macs) is no secret, but it still counts without the health of his fellow citizens. If few had fault with it, certainly hoping (secretly) that this addiction would be fatal to it, the Million Dollar Vegan organization decided to try to take advantage of it by asking it to "restore America's health" (Make America Healthy Again)!
Trump and "food" a gateway!
The Million Dollar Vegan campaign aims to raise awareness of the benefits of plant-based nutrition for health, the environment, equitable sharing of resources, the economy and animals by encouraging international leaders to lead by example.
After Pope Francis last February (1), it is the turn of the President of the United States that he is asked to lead by example: eat vegan during the month of January 2020, by encouraging his compatriots to do the same. .
As soon as President Trump signals his "official" agreement on Twitter, the organization, which has made a donation for this purpose, declares itself ready to hand over a check for one million dollars to the charity working for the veterans. which he will designate: a sum offered thanks to President Trump, with the aim of inspiring people across America and the world to rethink their food choices and improve their health.
A decent proposal - Young Evan's offer to POTUS
This campaign is led by Evan, just 9 years old and president of Animal Hero Kids, an association made up entirely of children and adolescents, which encourages young people to be compassionate and act with kindness.
Campaign spokesperson, cardiologist Dr. Joel Kahn adds: “The president is under significant daily stress and would benefit from this change in diet [...] I would advise him to increase his consumption of fruits and vegetables, legumes and whole grains while reducing your consumption of foods high in added sugars and saturated fat, such as cheese, red meats and processed foods ”.
But there are presidents who stand out in the true sense of the word, who build and who project themselves, and there is Trump. Not really having any complexes on any subject whatsoever, any more than, it must be said, common sense, put it at odds between an explosive subject in the United States (veterans) and a social subject he does not care about is… a very nice shot!

A straw in the budget, a beam in the foot
American veterans are fussy about how they are treated because things have never been particularly rosy for them, which is certainly why the American wars are becoming more and more privatized.
How Trump reacts to his proposed effort to help them can have a real impact.
In the end, he is only asked to become vegan during the month of January to come. Faced with more than 22 million veterans who have lost arms, legs, eyes or sleep, that is little ...
But a million dollars is also not much for veterans, who struggle to get decent compensation in a colossal administration, the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, which manages $ 70 billion and has about 280,000 employees.
