You may have noticed a not-so-gentlemanly Twitter spat between Ted Cruz and Donald Trump Twitter on Tuesday evening—two people who, you know, could be in charge of making our country's most important decisions one day. We here at GQ were happy to sit back and enjoy the theatrics until we realized that, uh, we were kind of involved in this one.

Let's start by clarifying that it's GQ, not G.Q. No need to get all New York Times-style on us, Donald. So what exactly happened here? It turns out a Cruz fundraising group circulated on Facebook a photo of Melania in anti-Trump ads ahead of Tuesday's Utah primary. The photo in question is this one Melania took during a photo shoot with our friends over in the U.K.

If GQ is going to get forced into the political discourse, let us say for the record that Melania looks fantastic in this shoot, even if she does have a bit more of a Kate Upton vibe going than a Jackie Kennedy. And if Trump and Cruz want to make threats over one of our many beautiful covers around the world, the least they could do is invite us to the next debate.
