Trump will return to social media with "his platform"

Former President Donald Trump will create his own social media platform and return to posting online within two to three months, according to his adviser and spokesperson Jason Miller.

For years, Trump has preferred Twitter, and he had amassed nearly 90 million followers before the social media platform suspended him in January. Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, Snapchat and others also moved to suspend the former president and, at the same time, Trump did not indicate that he would use other conservative-favorite social media sites, such as Gab, MeWe or Parler.

On Sunday to Fox News, Miller explained that Trump is likely to "[be back, ed.] On social media in two or three months" with "his platform" that "will completely redefine the game" and attract "tens of millions" of users. However, Miller, who is Trump's most prominent spokesperson, did not disclose details or a possible name for the firm on social media.

Since Twitter suspended his account, the former president has instead chosen to issue press statements via consultants and email, mostly in support of his favorite political candidates for the 2022 mid-term elections.

Also in the interview, Miller stated that Trump still holds considerable influence in the Republican Party: "He has already received the call of more than 20 senators, more than 50 members of Congress [...] or had them make the pilgrimage to Mars. a-Lago ».

In an interview last month, Trump announced that he was "negotiating with a certain number of people, and [that] there is also the option of building his own [social media] site."

“Because we have more people than anyone else. I mean you can literally build your site. I really wanted to keep quiet. They wanted me very much on Parler, you know there have been false reports, according to which the man who was there did not want; in reality it is exactly the opposite, they really wanted me a lot on Parler », Trump had explained.

The former commander in chief speculated that Parler would not be able to handle the amount of traffic Trump would bring to the website.

The former president gave a lengthy interview last week, saying he is not sure if he will run for president again in 2024. "The first thing for us is that we need to see what we can do with the House. I think we have a very good chance of getting the Chamber back. Last time we were losing 15-25 places, [until] I got involved. I worked very hard ».
