MELANIA (IN BLACK, SOBER AND CONCILIATOR) ALMOST FORGETS TRUMP IN HER FAREWELL SPEECH
Looking more austere than usual, the first lady has condemned violence and used her goodbye to praise the American people. In a seven-minute 'speech' she has only appointed the president once.
Melania Trump, the woman who inspired her husband and gave her the final push to run for president of the United States, may have regretted ever doing so. This can be deduced from her farewell speech, in which the still first lady of the United States has been sober - some media say even bland - even in her way of presenting herself: black herringbone jacket, natural hairstyle and like a talking bust , speaking behind a stage, without letting see if she was wearing one of the looks that have made her famous.
What is certain is that, from the first day she stepped foot in the White House as first lady, she has always wanted to stay away from all controversy generated by Donald Trump. The last, that of the taking of the Capitol, on which she took almost a week to pronounce.
She has not always remained on the sidelines. Faced with such a quiet first lady, many have seen a message from her in her looks. Of all the discussions that Donald Trump has fueled during his tenure, one of the most notorious was that of "zero tolerance" with immigration. The harshest consequence was the separation of thousands of minors from his parents. So, in one of Trump's worst moments, Melania decided to plant a jacket that read: "I really don't care, do you?"

Something similar, but a little more subtle, was what she did when the Capitol was being taken over by violent supporters instigated by Trump: the first lady took refuge in her fortress under the pretext of carrying out a photo session. She made reference to that moment in her farewell speech only once: "Be passionate in everything you do, but remember that violence is never the answer and it will never be justified."
A phrase that came after a series of praise to the American population, for their kindness, the war heroes for serving the country or the strength of children and mothers with diseases, among others. She has also recognized the work of health workers during the pandemic, and the efforts of so many other professionals who deserve that we have "caution and common sense, to move forward." All for the already hundreds of thousands of victims that the coronavirus has left in the United States and for whom she assures that she has suffered.
In the second half of her speech he has focused on a recurring theme in her public reflections: the education of children. "With our example, we must teach children to be good stewards of the world who will inherit," he assured at a UN reception in the United States, where he hosted the wives of world leaders, in September 2018. “As a mother I have always wanted to convey kindness. And as parents and adults we have a duty to ensure that our children have had the best opportunity to live in a complete and healthy way ”, she commented in her farewell speech. Not forgetting to remember the duty to leave an American legacy to future generations that they themselves can raise. A series of mentions among which the impeachment process of her husband, the elections or, basically, any other issue related to Donald has been left in the pipeline. Who she only mentions once during the speech, by the way.
“There are no words to express the gratitude I feel for having been privileged to serve as First Lady. To all the people of this country: you will be in my heart forever. Thank you. May God bless you and may God bless the United States of America ”, the first lady concluded about the last four years of her life, which she considers“ unforgettable ”. And there is no doubt that they are.
