The popularity of MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry with the British has dropped to an all-time low - as the Queen remains our favorite royal, a new survey has revealed.

After Prince Philip's funeral, British adults were asked who they liked best in the family.

And the Duke and Duchess of Sussex hit their lowest score ever - even after their popularity plummeted following their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.

It comes as:

During the explosive conversation, the couple said a senior royal made a racist comment about the color of his son Archie's skin before he was born.

It has also been claimed that Kate Middleton made Meghan cry - an allegation which allegedly made William particularly upset.

But since the last poll, conducted in the days after Oprah's interview aired, Harry's popularity has plunged three more points, YouGov says.

Pregnant Meghan, who remained in the United States on the advice of her doctor, has also seen her popularity drop by five points in the past six weeks, according to the figures.

Elsewhere, Prince Edward and Prince Charles have seen their popularity increase since March 12.

It's a comeback for Charles, whose approval ratings dropped eight points to 49% after Oprah's interview aired.

Harry claimed he was cut off by his family during the interview, and said he was left unsafe after his father stopped taking his calls.

But by far the most popular royal is the Queen. His approval rating rose from 80% to 85% after the death of the Duke of Edinburgh.

And two-thirds of those surveyed - 64% - want her to stay in her job for the rest of her life.

Prince William and Kate Middleton also remain very popular, according to the latest poll, with around three-quarters of Britons giving them favorable reviews.

Prince Andrew remains by far the least popular royal, with 79% of Britons having a negative opinion. According to the poll, only ten percent see it in a positive light.

According to data, of more than 1,700 Britons between April 21 and 22, public opinion of Prince Harry remained largely negative.

He returned to the UK for his grandfather's funeral earlier this month, although he was apparently "shocked" by the frosty reception he received from some of his family.

The Duke is expected to return to the UK this summer for the unveiling of a statue dedicated to his late mother.

But royal experts say he could make an 'excuse' and stay home - as Meghan is believed to soon give birth to the couple's second child, a daughter.

Some 43% of those polled have a positive opinion of Harry, the survey reveals, while 49% view him negatively.

Meghan's popularity scores also fell slightly after a sharp drop in March.

Currently, less than a third - 29% - of Britons polled have a positive opinion of the Duchess of Sussex.

More than six in ten people - 61 percent - view it negatively.

That means she has a net popularity rating of -32, down from -27 six weeks ago.

Elsewhere, public opinion on who should ultimately succeed the Queen is divided.

About two in five people - 37% - say Prince Charles should become king upon retirement, while a similar number - 34% - would like to see the throne go to his eldest grandson William.

And one in six people - 17% - say there shouldn't be a monarch after the queen.

It comes as a royal expert claims the Queen will "gracefully disappear" from public office as Charles and William take on more responsibility.

Former BBC royal correspondent Peter Hunt said the monarch would step down from royal engagements in the future.

He told the New York Times: “Basically the Queen will gracefully disappear.

“Covid has helped in the sense that it has accelerated what any sane 95-year-old woman would want to do, which is not stay up all day.”

But the Queen returned to work with a beaming smile today in her first engagement photographed since Philip's funeral.

She was seen via videoconference from Windsor Castle as she hosted dignitaries at Buckingham Palace.

Charles and William are reportedly considering “downsizing” the monarchy which could see Meghan and Harry cut off altogether.

Royal biographer Angela Levin has said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could be wiped out completely, with only Charles, Camilla, William, Kate Middleton, Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte left as members of the royal family.

Meghan and Harry have stepped down as royals, although they continue to support charities from their home in Los Angeles.

The royal couple announced today they will join stars Jennifer Lopez and Selena Gomez at a coronavirus concert to "bring the world together."

And in a lengthy statement on their Archewell website, they said they would "help lead a global effort to distribute the Covid-19 vaccine equitably to everyone, everywhere."
