Ellen DeGeneres Confirms She Ends Talk Show Amid "Appalling" Hearings
Ellen DeGeneres is ending her talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, after 18 seasons.
The comedian is believed to be planning another series, but will leave our screens at the end of the 2021/2022 season.
The Hollywood Reporter says the 63-year-old spoke to her staff to brief them on the news on May 11 and will discuss her decision in more detail during a conversation with Oprah Winfrey on May 13.
"When you're a creative person, you have to be constantly challenged - and as great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it's no longer a challenge," she told the post.
“Ellen was and still is an indelible part of the television landscape, and we will be sorely missed,” added Mike Darnell, President of Warner Bros. Unscripted TV.
News of the Ellen DeGeneres show's ending was first reported by DailyMail.com, with an insider telling the publication her ratings have been "really appalling" since reports emerged of a "location." toxic work 'behind the scenes.
