PRINCE WILLIAM AND KATE MIDDLETON GO ON YOUTUBE
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex launched their official YouTube channel on Tuesday with a first video.
A little closer to the British people. On Tuesday, Prince William and Kate Middleton announced the launch of their own YouTube channel. "Welcome to our official YouTube channel!" they launch as the title of their first video, a short teaser of less than a minute.
"Be careful what you say, because these people film everything," whisper the son of Prince Charles to his wife, indicating the technical team. The rest of the teaser is made up of images of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge taken during their official trips, from galas to meetings with political leaders. No information has been released regarding their rate of publication or the content of their future videos.
The British Royal Family already has an official YouTube channel, The Royal Family, which has nearly 850,000 subscribers. That of Kate and William could quickly catch up with her: in less than 24 hours and with a single video published, she is close to 20,000 subscribers.
Connected monarchy
For several years, the British royal family has been increasingly present on social networks. The princely couple arrived on Instagram in 2015 with an official account, before being followed by Queen Elizabeth II herself four years later. Kate and William document their official travels and family life there, occasionally sharing photos of their children George, Charlotte and Louis.
In addition, more and more celebrities are taking to the video sharing platform. Recently, model Hailey Bieber and actress Brie Larson opened their own YouTube channels.
