Who is better, Beyonce or Selena Gomez?

For Toronto fans of both Beyoncé and Selena Gomez, it’s tough to make lemonade out of a scheduling SNAFU that has the pop stars playing rival shows on the same night.

The two pop stars will both take to Toronto stages on Wednesday, after the surging Raptors forced Gomez to move her Air Canada Centre gig originally scheduled for this past Sunday.

And suffering fans are wishing these ladies had gotten their schedules in formation.

“Can you f---ing do a duo show,” tweeted fan @jaclynpetrik at the singers. “I hate you both im officially becoming a gaga fan.”

“WHEN @EmblemThree @selenagomez AND @Beyoncé ALL HAVE CONCERTS ON THE SAME DAY IN TORONTO... I WANNA BE IN THREE PLACES AT ONCE!! KILL ME!!” added @alyssabridgeeee, with emoticons of a crying face and a revolver.

Yes, Kyle Lowry and co. have forced pop fans into an unfortunate choice. And through no fault of her own, Selena Gomez is learning the same lesson as Becky with the Good Hair: going head-to-head with Beyoncé is probably a bad idea.

Maria Tassone had tickets for both shows, but when Gomez’s show was shifted she opted to refund her pair of tickets.

“(My decision) was pretty instantaneous,” said Tassone, a 25-year-old marketing and communications coordinator who has been a Beyoncé fan since the days of Destiny’s Child.

“Beyoncé was just the first thing on my mind.”

After Cody Kaufman conceded with embarrassment that she was “pretty upset” about having to choose between the shows, she admitted it was ultimately not that difficult a decision.

“(I) already have tickets for Beyoncé and would bet that Selena will be back around again sooner,” she replied.

But hold up — even if they don’t love Gomez like they love Beyoncé, Justin Bieber’s former squeeze still has plenty of fans here.

“I was only a casual fan of Selena’s before the Revival album. I really love it, which is why I wanted to go to this concert because who knows if I would like her next album the next time she goes on tour,” Tassone said.

“I’m still disappointed that I won’t be able to see Selena — I even thought about going to Ottawa, but the money would be too much.”

Somehow, the conflicting concerts actually wound up sort of serendipitous for at least one person.

Peterborough dad Neil Morton’s 15-year-old daughter Avery is going to Beyoncé, while his 14-year-old daughter Chloe is seeing Gomez. Chloe is hitching a ride with a friend, while Morton booked a transportation service to take his other daughter and her five friends.
