And if the resemblance is striking, the story that director Pablo Larraín wants to tell in this feature film in preparation may be too. Indeed, this film will focus on three days of Lady Di's life, before her divorce from Prince Charles, during the Christmas holidays with the royal family at Sandringham. A backdrop to tell the anti-fairy tale, assures the director.
Indeed, in the columns of Deadline, he already explained a few months ago what Kristen Stewart was going to interpret. On this occasion, he had estimated: "In general, the prince comes, finds the princess, offers to become his wife and she ends up becoming queen. That's the fairy tale. But when someone decides to not to become queen and say: 'I would rather become myself', it's an incredible decision, a fairy tale upside down. […] This is the heart of the film: how and why do you take this decision?"
