Why Cristiano Ronaldo hid Coca Cola in a press conference with Portugal: "Drink water!"
Cristiano Ronaldo's gesture is causing a lot of discussion: the Portuguese, Juventus striker, during the press conference on the eve of Portugal-Hungary, the first match of the Lusitanians at the European Football Championships, removed the bottles of Coca Cola from the conference table, never sponsor of the event. Controversy. It is perhaps the secret of his success: a personalized training and a diet that does not allow mistakes. Ronaldo, a five-time winner of the Ballon d'Or, 36 years old and a perfect physique, thanks to which he is the model that many teenagers take as an example. It is no coincidence that the Nike sports company made him sign a "lifetime" contract to be able to use his image.
The 36-year-old player then removed two bottles of Coca-Cola from the frame and invited the entire audience to drink water. The Juventus champion has completely ignored the fact that the most famous soft drink company in the world is the main sponsor of Euro 2020. In the room, everyone was speechless at the gesture made by the player and breaking the "ice" was the same player who raised a bottle of water and said: "Drink water". Most likely, a response will also come from the carbonated drinks company "Coca Cola" which certainly did not appreciate Ronaldo's gesture.
It is not the first time that the footballer has expressed his disappointment with junk food and carbonated drinks. In fact, it is well known the reproach that Ronaldo had made to his son Cristiano Jr: "he has potential, but he continues to eat chips and drink Coca Cola, so he will never be able to reach the top". Cristiano Ronaldo, who follows a personalized training and a diet that does not allow mistakes, also suggested to his 10-year-old son to do like him, or after a run on the treadmill to do a whole lot in cold water to recover but the child he replied: "Daddy it's so cold there". But in this the footballer, contrary to when the son eats badly and does not drink water, was not angry and said to the cameras: "He is normal, he is 10 years old".
It has not always been the case for the Portuguese champion. He famous the anecdote of a pre-match with Ferguson's Manchester United, where the striker exploded. One day Ronaldo showed up in the locker room drinking the fizzy drink, apparently a Coke. At that point, a senator and champion of those years, the Welsh Ryan Giggs, angry at the young man's attitude, forced him not to drink it. Giggs himself told this episode last year in an interview at Manchester United Podcast in which he said: "I could have pinned it to the wall and I could have told him 'we don't do certain things here'". Ironically, during that game the CR7 scored a hat-trick and as Giggs added in the Podcast, Ronaldo replied: "I drink what I want, Giggs!".
