Henry of England returns to California without spending his birthday with Elizabeth II

The prince decided to return home after the meeting he had with his father, Carlos de Inglaterra, and his brother Guillermo

Enrique from England is already back in the United States without waiting for the birthday of his grandmother, the queen, who turns 95 this Wednesday. Elizabeth II, the world's longest reigning monarch, will spend the day at Windsor Castle, largely alone, surrounded by her tiny bubble of staff from the pandemic. This measure, apparently, led Enrique to make the decision to return home a couple of days after the funeral of his grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh, held last Saturday. Prince Charles will also miss the Queen's birthday, as he is in her Welsh home of hers. Nor is Prince William expected to visit her on her big day. Elizabeth II is still in mourning but on Friday she will go back to work.

She has transpired that, after the ceremony in the Chapel of San Jorge, small steps were taken between Carlos of England and his children to try to bring positions closer. The three met at Windsor Castle for two hours, on a date apparently propitiated by Kate Middleton, who became a peacemaker for this family conflict, and after the queen's recommendation that they solve the problems.

Of the conclusions of the conclave there is no news, since the assistants made a pact of silence. This meeting was the first they had after Enrique affirmed that his father and his brother are "trapped in the system", during the interview between him and his wife, Meghan Markle, with Oprah Winfrey.

Before the meeting, the brothers were caught leaving the funeral, a long-awaited image. According to the Daily Mail, which has hired an expert lip reader, Prince Henry told his older brother that the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral was "as he would have wanted." “Yes, it was great, wasn't it?”, Guillermo replied, to which Enrique added: “It was as he wanted”. The images soon went around the world

The British press, however, maintains that Henry's meeting with his family was very cold and especially the reception that the Earls of Wessex and Princess Anne gave him, very upset by his statements in the interview. All this after the queen asked her relatives for her union to face these days and that the palace protocol was activated to avoid unpleasant situations.

Enrique arrived in the UK on an American Airlines flight just over a week ago and spent most of his time in quarantine at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor and thus with little or no contact with the royal family. He will now begin a second 10-day quarantine, a requirement for international travelers landing in the US although this rule includes exemptions for those traveling for work or urgent family matters. The prince will be able to meet with his wife Meghan Markle who is in the third trimester of her pregnancy so she could not accompany him to London.

The presence of the Duke of Sussex on his way back to California was discovered when his minivan with a chauffeur was caught leaving the private terminal in Los Angeles reserved for celebrities and the super-rich, and was then seen again arriving at the Montecito mansion where Enrique lives. and Meghan with her son Archie.

The prince is expected to return to the UK for the unveiling of a monument to his mother, Princess Diana, who would turn 60 on July 1.
