Targeted by several accusations of rape and harassment, Marilyn Manson thanked by her label
Accused by at least five women, including American actress Evan Rachel Wood, the singer denies the allegations. He was thanked by his label Loma Vista Recordings.
In a similar burst of courage, at least five women posted on their Instagram account Monday accusations of rape, harassment and psychological abuse against American singer Marilyn Manson. Brian Hugh Warner, whose real name is, had been suspected for several years of being the aggressor denounced in 2018 by American actress Evan Rachel Wood during a hearing on sexual violence before Congress, without revealing his identity. In her post on Monday, the Thirteen film and Westworld actress confirms that the 52-year-old singer is indeed her attacker. In Congress, she had notably claimed to have been raped on several occasions. Denouncing a "dangerous man", the 33-year-old actress tells on Instagram that she has been subjected to "horrible abuse for years."
The actress was officially in a relationship with Marilyn Manson for several years, before their engagement in 2010, which broke up a few months later. “I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I am done with life in fear of reprisals, slander or blackmail, ”she writes. Ashley Walters, Gabriella, Ashley Lindsey Morgan and Sarah McNeilly also testified that they were psychologically and sexually abused by the singer, Vanity Fair reports. These women portray a character who is both seductive and manipulative, able to tie them up, threaten them with death or force them to take drugs. Several of them also claim to suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder.
"Disturbing allegations"
The musician totally denied the accusations on Instagram: “My art and my life have long been the subject of controversy, but the recent allegations against me are a horrible distortion of reality. My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual, with partners in agreement. ” He adds, "No matter how or why others today choose to distort the past, it is the truth." The consequences of these testimonies were not long in coming, however. The singer was thanked by his label. "In light of today's disturbing allegations," Loma Vista Recordings "will stop promoting their current album with immediate effect," a statement posted on Twitter said. “Due to these worrying developments, we have also decided not to work with Marilyn Manson on future projects,” adds the label.
According to the Deadline site, the Starz channel has also decided to withdraw the next episode of the American Gods series in which it was supposed to appear in season 3. Same decision on the side of AMC Networks: the appearance of Marilyn Manson in the series horror Creepshow has also been retired, notes Vanity Fair. Evan Rachel Wood also shared a letter written by Susan Rubio, Democratic Senator from California, to United States Attorney General Monty Wilkinson and the FBI on January 21. She urges the US Department of Justice to "meet with the alleged victims immediately and investigate these allegations." On her own Instagram account, the senator laments: "As a survivor myself, I was horrified to hear these allegations of domestic violence."

American artist Marilyn Manson has created a disturbing, Gothic-inspired public figure. The very name of what was originally a band is inspired by actress Marilyn Monroe and psychopathic guru Charles Manson, who notably provoked the bloody murder of actress Sharon Tate. His musical universe, “shock rock”, combines rock metal with a taste for spectacular and provocative staging, mixing satanist and gothic imagery. Two of his albums reached number one in sales in the United States.
In an interview with the Spin magazine site in 2009, Marilyn Manson explained that she "had the fantasy of pulverizing" Evan Rachel Wood's skull "every day" with a hammer. More recently, in September he abruptly ended a telephone interview with British metal magazine Metal Hammer when the subject of Evan Rachel Wood's testimony came up. The comments made in 2009 were, according to Marilyn Manson's UK PR representative, "obviously just a rock star theatrical interview promoting a new record, and a factual account."
