Meghan Markle clarifies her relationship with Kate Middleton: "She made me cry, but I forgave her
One of the rumors that have always accompanied Meghan Markle in her first years as Duchess of Sussex is the alleged bad relationship that she had with her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton.
The British tabloids have talked about it a lot, for example when it was said that they had had a row on the same day of the wedding with Harry, because of the bridesmaids' wardrobe, to the point that the Duchess of Cambridge would have ended up crying .
Meghan Markle gave the version of her this Sunday in the interview granted with her husband, Prince Harry, to Oprah Winfrey.
"The opposite happened," explained the Suits actress. "And I'm not saying this to discredit anyone, because it was a very difficult week of the wedding. She was upset about something. But it was something hers, she apologized and brought me flowers and a note apologizing."
"She apologized and I forgave her"
"However, I don't think it's fair for her to go into detail because she apologized," she continued. "And I forgave her."
Meghan said what she found "shocking" was that the story hit the press several months after the wedding. "I never would have wanted that to come out about her, even though it happened," she said.
She criticized that the media "really seems to want a narrative of a heroine and a villain." But she referred to Kate as a "good person" and spoke of the people who stand up to them. "If you love me, you don't have to hate her. And if you love her, you don't have to hate me," she said.
Proof of the apparent cordial relationship between Meghan (39) and Kate (38) were the outings they made together, before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to California, to different events such as Wimbledon matches, as in the photo that illustrates this article.
The report of the controversy, because of a "stockings"
The report to which Meghan refers in her statements to Oprah, and which originated the rumors of enmity with Kate, was published by Tatler magazine last May.
Tatler magazine dedicated its cover to Kate Middleton with an extensive report titled Catherine the Great, Catherine the Great, in a comparison with the Russian empress.
