Surprise! Donald Trump does not invest his money in actions against "electoral fraud"
These two paragraphs from The Washington Post are as unsurprising as they are deeply disturbing.
"Former President Donald Trump's Political Action Committee raised about $ 75 million in the first half of this year while touting the false notion that the 2020 election was stolen from him, but the group has not earmarked funds to help finance the ongoing ballot review in Arizona or to jump-start similar efforts in other states, according to people familiar with finances.
Instead, the leadership of the Save America Political Action Committee, which has few limits on how it can spend its money, has paid for some of the former president's travel, legal and staff costs, along with other expenses, according to the people, who spoke on condition of anonymity to describe the inner workings of the group. The Political Action Committee has kept a lot of its money. "
Add another point of evidence to this reality about Donald Trump and those around him: this is, and always has been, a scam. Trump realized early on as a candidate that he could separate people from money from him by promising them the world. And that, except in rare occasions, he could then do whatever he wanted with what he had collected because people did not sanction him for not keeping his promises.
The formation and execution of the Trump Political Action Committee (Save America PAC) is a perfect illustration of Trump's basic scam.
It was initially formed, right after Trump's defeat in 2020, to apparently raise money to fund various electoral challenges across the country. Within days of the formation of the Political Action Committee, Trump's team had sent more than 100 email requests, the vast majority focused on the made-up idea that the victory had been taken away from him. One of them, sent in mid-November, asked "every patriot ... to help defend the integrity" of the elections.
The Political Action Committee quickly raised tens of millions of dollars. But, instead of spending some of that money on expensive counting efforts in places like Arizona and Michigan, Trump opted to use it for his own trips around the country, as well as amassing the vast majority of funds as a way to maintain his political power in the midterm elections of 2022 and, eventually, in the presidential race of 2024.
"Even while assiduously tracking attempts by his allies to question the integrity of last year's election, Trump has not been interested in personally funding the efforts, relying on other entities and supporters to fund the efforts, [sources] said. ".
All of this raises an obvious question: If Trump truly believes that a) the election was stolen from him and b) evidence of that fact could come to light in these various recount attempts across the country, then why wouldn't he be willing to put your money into it? If the proof that he needs to be reinstated is somewhere in America, wouldn't he spend every penny he had, or rather every penny that was donated to him after the election, to find out?
Unless, let me, Trump knows that the election fraud is itself a fraud, one that he is perpetrating to drag out President Joe Biden while he maintains his own chances of running and winning again.
Of course, someone who takes advantage of the people, and puts the pillars of democracy in jeopardy, solely for his personal gain would not be a great leader, and certainly not presidential material.
