Tom Cruise lands helicopter in the garden of a British family because he was "late" to a meeting
Mission: Impossible star offered a woman's children a ride on the aircraft
A helicopter carrying Tom Cruise landed in a family's garden in Warwickshire because the local Coventry airport was closed.
Cruise, who is currently in the country filming the latest Mission: Impossible movie, landed on Alison Webb's land.
According to the BBC, the family, who live in Baginton, Warwick, did not know in advance that Cruise was in the helicopter and had only been told that there was an "identified VIP person who was late."
The Hollywood star wasn't in much of a rush though, as she posed for photos and gave Webb's kids and her partner a free helicopter ride.
She told the BBC: “I thought it would be great for the kids to see the helicopter land in the garden. He [Tom Cruise] basically came and went and it was like, 'Wow.' He walked right up to the kids to chat, then came over and elbowed us and thanked us. He then said that if the children wanted, they could go up in a helicopter. "
Webb said the pilot took the children for a ride while Cruise attended a meeting. "It turned out to be an incredible day," she added. "It was surreal, I still can't believe it happened."
The seventh installment of the Mission: Impossible franchise, directed by Christopher McQuarrie, will be released in May 2022 after numerous delays. It also stars Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Vanessa Kirby, Rebecca Ferguson, and Henry Czerny.
