Donald Trump, the "chief cheater" in golf
Donald Trump will receive golfer Tiger Woods at the White House on Monday evening to present him with the Medal of Freedom. A President of the United States passionate about the discipline - he spends a lot of time on the courses -, gifted… and obviously ready to do anything to win!
On Monday evening, Donald Trump is due to receive one of the discipline’s greatest champions, Tiger Woods, at the White House to present him with the Medal of Freedom, the country's highest civilian decoration. An award given to the champion, after his victory in the Augusta Masters last month and his comeback at the highest level. Trump had hailed "the superb victory of Woods and his incredible comeback".
Because the 45th American president is a true golfer. He owns 19 golf courses, twelve in the United States, seven overseas. When he's not in the Oval Office in Washington, he spends a lot of time there. A specialized site has done the count: since the start of his mandate on January 20, 2017, he has spent 173 days golfing. Rather surprising when you remember Trump's attacks on his predecessor Obama, whom he accused of spending more time golfing ... than working.
A passion that dates back to his university years
Donald Trump developed a passion for the sport while studying at the University of Pennsylvania. Since then, the former real estate developer and billionaire has never stopped golfering. Of his style on the courses, he says, “I'm good at putting. I hit the ball well. I don’t like approaches too much and my handicap is four ”. Which is a very honorable level.
But on the grounds that often bear his name, Donald Trump is ready to do anything to win. According to a book published last month in the United States by sports journalist Rick Reilly, Trump is a die-hard cheater, often moving his balls with his foot, or repelling those of his opponents. The book is called Commander in cheat. Translation: Chief cheater. He describes how, in golf and politics, Trump likes to break free from rules and conventions.
Hey @realDonaldTrump are you coming to my book signing in DC Wednesday night? I'll be telling people how Mike Tirico, Brad Faxon, Doc Rivers + others all say you cheated in front of them!

Tiger Woods fan
On April 15, Donald Trump therefore tweeted Woods’s recent victory at the Augusta Masters: “Tremendous victory. Incredible success and incredible comeback, in golf as in life. I will award him the Medal of Freedom! ”.
The two men know each other well and have played together on several occasions. The last time was in February at a Florida course owned by the President. “We had a lot of fun,” said Woods, who was also joined for the occasion by former champion Jack Nicklaus.
But the Tiger was also careful to remember that he played regularly with ex-President Obama, so as not to make his remarks too political. Donald Trump and Tiger Woods will meet this Monday in the rose garden of the White House, where the first will give the second the highest civilian honor in the country.
