Angelina Jolie explains why she decided to join the MCU
The actress is joining a team of superheroes for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and will star on The Eternals next November.
Marvel has been multiplying the beautiful catches for several months. The studios can claim to have recruited some of the big names in Hollywood, in front of and behind the camera. Among the actors to join its ranks are two stars of Game of Thrones: Kit Harington and Richard Madden who will be playing The Eternals next November. They will give the counterpart to a monument of the 7th art, namely Angelina Jolie. Asked by D23 Magazine, she spoke about her decision to join the MCU. Obviously, Chloe Zhao is not for nothing.
“That's why I wanted to make this movie: to be part of such a diverse family, and I didn't care how big the role would be. It's our quirks and differences that have become our superpowers. Chloe is the great equalizer, even though it was a massive, star-studded cast that she worked with, she treated us with the same attention and care. ”
A new record for Marvel
As Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings brings smiles back to the American box office, The Eternals captivates the attention of fans of the House of Ideas. This introduction of a new superhero squad is expected at the turn, as it is directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Chloe Zhao. After multi-award winning Nomadland, this new feature already promises to stand in opposition to the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, both visually and on the narrative side.
The plot will follow the adventures of an ancient race of humans, who can manipulate cosmic energy and who were created by the Celestials to protect the Earth from their counterparts, the Deviants.
