Brad Pitt says his words about Aniston were misunderstood

Comments provoked by an interview published on the Parade magazine website, in which Brad Pitt talks about his life with his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston, caused the actor to immediately step out to say that his words were they had misunderstood.

Pitt, 47, said in a Parade magazine profile posted Thursday on the publication's website that he is now a "satisfied man" in his relationship with Angelina Jolie.

The actor compares his new life to Jolie, with whom he is raising six children, favorably to the roughly five years he spent married to Aniston.

"It was very clear to me that I was determined to try to find a movie about an interesting life, but I was not living an interesting life myself," Pitt told Parade.

“I think my marriage (to Aniston) had something to do with this. Trying to pretend that marriage was something it wasn't, ”he added.

Those quotes were interpreted by many outlets as that Pitt thought Aniston was uninteresting. But the actor made an effort to clarify his words in a statement issued later by his representative agency.

“It hurts me that this was interpreted this way. Jen is an incredibly generous, lovable, and fun woman, and she is still my friend. It is an important relationship that I value very much. What I was trying to say was not that Jen was boring, but that I was becoming boring myself, and that was my responsibility, ”Pitt said in the statement.

Pitt and Aniston, star of the hit television series “Friends,” were married in 2000, and he has almost always avoided talking about her since he divorced her in 2005.

In the magazine interview, Pitt also said that he spent the 1990s "trying to hide" because of his celebrity status. "I started to get sick of sitting on a couch, holding a joint, hiding," he said.

Although Pitt and Oscar winner Angelina Jolie have been together for more than five years, the actor has said he will not marry until gay marriage is widely legalized. He keeps thinking the same.

"We will get married when everyone can," Pitt told Parade.

Parade's interview with Pitt, who stars in the upcoming baseball drama “Moneyball,” will be published in this Sunday's issue of the magazine.
