In December 2017, Gigi posed as the face of LOVE magazine on her Instagram page. In a video of her boxing, she raises her arms to show off her toned muscles, but no one seems to notice her. Instead, social media users only pointed to Gigi's seemingly unshaven armpits.

3. Gigi in hijab on the cover of Vogue Arabia
In early 2017, Gigi came under fire in the first issue of Vogue Arabia. As a cover model, Hadid was styled in a hijab in what was described as an 'exclusively Arabic way'.
In a likely effort to try to keep people from being offended, Hadid explained on Instagram that she is half Palestinian. Even the editor-in-chief claimed: 'There is no better first' face 'to lead the charge for Vogue Arabia than Gigi.'
Most people were not convinced of the justifications for it and have accused the model of appropriation. Gigi may have claimed that the hijab was used for artistic purposes, but one user wrote: “1 you are not Muslim, please stop using the hijab for 'art' 2 stop using the title 'Middle Palestinian' for your benefit when neither you even fight for your people. '
