Plastic surgeries that went very wrong: After the disaster, some managed to fix their appearance
Poorly done cosmetic surgeries can sometimes be fixed, but it is not an easy task.
Plastic surgeries performed by qualified professionals do not usually generate major problems, but there are cases in which they go very wrong. In general, the worst consequences are suffered by those who, unknowingly, fall into the hands of people posing as doctors, carrying out failed interventions that put health at risk.
Many of these disastrous plastic surgeries are related to malpractice and the use of substances that should not be injected into the body. In this list we compile some of the most extreme cases of poorly done cosmetic surgeries.
Cement in her face
Rajee Narinesingh's case became known a few years ago when the woman attended the “Botched” program to fix the mess that had been done to her face. "Cement face" was the sad nickname she earned after a fake doctor put cement and tire sealant on her cheekbones.
As a transgender woman, it was her intention to look more feminine, but she never imagined the result. She lived like this for 10 years, because she was ashamed to ask for help, until finally the doctors from "Botched" managed to remove the cement and improve her appearance in a notorious way.
Silicone on the face Carol
Bryan used to work as a model and had Botox applied several times. But in 2009, a new operation deformed his face completely. She received unauthorized facial fillers that combined various substances, including silicone. As a result, her face swelled to the edge of her.
In addition to her cosmetic damage, Bryan lost the vision in one eye. After undergoing seven surgeries to try to repair the disaster, the woman managed to recover. Although her appearance is very different from what she used to have, at least her nightmare is behind her. Learn more about the Carol Bryan case.
Fat in the eye bags
Nuray was working as a model when she, in her 30s, felt that she should look younger so as not to be replaced by younger models. Residing in Las Vegas, she traveled to her native Turkey, where she had surgery. The doctor told her that if she placed fillers with her own fat (instead of the traditional ones, usually hyaluronic acid), she would last longer. But far from taking years away, she added them and left the bags under her eyes inflamed and uneven.
After the failed surgery, she learned that the professional was an inexperienced doctor and that she used her as a guinea pig. After visiting a score of doctors, the surgeons from the "Botched" show took up her case, giving Nuray her usual look back.
Silicone and oil injections
Hang Mioku's could well be the most extreme case of all. This former Korean model had become addicted to surgeries, to the point that the doctors refused to continue operating on her. But that didn't stop her and she decided to inject silicone into her face herself. The woman got the substance from a doctor she knew, and when she ran out, she injected cooking oil.
Her case became known in 2013, when it emerged that Hang Mioku had no choice but to undergo ten plastic surgeries to fix the mess. Her doctors removed 60 grams of different substances that she had on her face and another 200 grams from her neck. Little is known about her today, but the most recent news indicates that, at 57, she works in a recycled clothing store.
Silicone lip fillers
Keara, 30, wanted a meaty mouth like Angelina Jolie. That was what she asked for at the beauty center she attended and a nurse injected silicone into her upper lip. Her mouth began to gain volume, to the point of not being able to keep it completely closed. Over the years, she developed granulomas.
The woman also found the solution thanks to the show “Botched”, after spending a decade with her lips like this. The new surgery restored her natural smile.
