Beyoncé once said those nasty first pregnancy rumors were 'stupid' and 'crazy'

When Beyoncé was pregnant with her first child, Blue Ivy, in 2011, rumors spread that she was not really pregnant. Instead, the singer was alleged to have hired a surrogate and was walking with a prosthetic belly. While many were convinced that Queen Bey had done everything possible to fake her pregnancy, she ultimately put an end to these rumors, calling them "stupid" and "the most ridiculous" she had ever heard of herself.

Beyoncé said the fake pregnancy rumors were more 'crazy' than hurtful

Before giving birth to her daughter in 2012, Beyoncé found herself at the center of a pregnancy hoax.

The gossip started after the singer appeared on the Australian talk show Sunday Night HD. Before the interview began, Beyoncé's tummy appeared to deflate as she sat up, leading some viewers to think that she was wearing a prosthetic tummy while a surrogate was carrying her child.

Rumors quickly spread through the media, prompting many to speculate whether Beyoncé was actually faking her pregnancy.

It wasn't long after these rumors made headlines that the "Crazy In Love" singer addressed these claims, calling them "stupid, ridiculous and untrue," through her publicist, according to Billboard.

“It was a fabric that bent, doesn't the fabric bend? Oh my gosh, how stupid, ”Beyoncé said.

She later claimed that the gossip about her pregnancy was "crazy".

“That was crazy. It wasn't hurtful, it was just crazy, "the multi-Grammy winner told People, according to MTV News in 2012." Where did you come up with this? "

Beyoncé claimed that she would never be so vain

In her 2013 HBO documentary Life Is But a Dream, Beyoncé revealed how she really felt about the tummy controversy when she was taking the media by storm.

“There is a stupid rumor. In fact, it's the most ridiculous rumor I think I've ever had about myself, but actually there are a lot of people who believe this rumor and it's crazy, ”she said in the film. "I guess there are some crazy celebrities in the world, so we have a bad reputation."

Beyoncé claimed that she would never do such a "vain" act, noting that pregnancy is something not to be trifled with.

“I have a lot of respect for mothers and women and being able to experience bringing a child into this world, if you are lucky enough to experience that, I would never take it for granted,” Beyoncé explained. “I mean, it's the most powerful thing you could do in your life and especially after losing a child, the pain and trauma of that makes having the opportunity to bring life into the world mean so much more. It is something you must respect. It seems that people should have limits. There are certain things you shouldn't be messing with. "

Beyoncé proved the gossipers wrong

On January 7, 2012, Beyoncé gave birth to her and her husband Jay-Z's first child, Blue Ivy Carter.

Five years later, the singer announced that she was pregnant with twins, showing her growing belly on her Instagram. In June 2017, Beyoncé gave birth to Sir and Rumi Carter.

Although the pregnancy was not easy for Beyoncé in the least, she would not trade the experience for anything, as she brought hers two little ones of hers who have made her life worthwhile.

"I feel like I'm a new woman in a new chapter of my life and I'm not even trying to be who I was," she said in her 2019 Netflix documentary Homecoming, per Today. "It is so beautiful that children do that to you."
