Jennifer Connelly was born on December 12, 1970 in Cairo, New York. An only daughter, she grew up in the Brooklyn neighborhood, where her father worked in the textile industry. At 10, on the advice of a friend of her parents, she auditioned for a casting for a modeling agency. From then on, she began to land advertising contracts while continuing her studies.
