Johnny Depp gets his dogs out of Australia before they are euthanized

The actor had introduced his pets illegally to circumvent the country's restrictive laws

Johnny Depp has finally decided to get his dogs out of Australia before the authorities followed through on their threat to euthanize them for their illegal entry into the country. The Hollywood star's pets, two Yorkshire terriers named Boo and Pistol, took a plane back to the United States on Friday, a day after being reported, and a day before the deadline.

The actor introduced them to Australia on a private plane without declaring that he was traveling with his pets. Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce ordered Depp that he had 48 hours to send the dogs back to the United States. Authorities became aware of the dogs when they were taken to a hairdresser near the mansion where Depp and Heard are staying.

After learning of the actor's infraction, officials went to his home to inform Depp that he had three days to send Boo and Pistol back home. A deadline that ended this Saturday, but that the actor has not waited to meet to save the life of his dogs. The Australian authorities showed harshness in the case, once it came to light, so as not to show flexibility in their restrictive policy for the passage of animals across their borders.
