Alec Baldwin, who stars in and produces the western film Rust, fired a prop gun that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza. In the midst of the commotion that the news caused in the last hours in the world of entertainment, an old tweet of the actor went viral. The reason? Baldwin explicitly referred to the possibility of accidentally shooting someone and taking their life.



After the accident, Hutchins, 42, was airlifted to the hospital of the University of New Mexico, United States. Shortly after she was admitted, the medical staff declared her death. Souza, 48, was transported by ambulance to Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center. For these hours, the director remains hospitalized.


"I wonder how it would feel to kill someone accidentally," Baldwin wrote on Twitter on September 23, 2017. The post was a comment related to an event that an American police officer carried out that year and was reported by the American newspaper Los Angels Times.

After what happened, while the victims were being transferred to receive medical attention, the actor went into a state of shock. Everything was recorded by a camera that captured different situations in which Baldwin was broken. In one of the shocking images, he appears crouched, with his body bent, looking at the ground in a gesture of desolation. In another, he talks on the phone while waving his hands. According to him, the photos correspond to the moments after the interrogation to which he was subjected in the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office.

According to the police authorities of the state of New Mexico, Hutchins was injured when "a prop gun was fired by Alec Baldwin, producer and actor." The tragedy occurred at the Bonanza Creek Ranch, a renowned location where several American movies were filmed, such as Cowboys & Aliens and Longmire. At the moment, as explained by the Sheriff's Office, no charges were filed for the incident, although an investigation was opened to determine the causes of what happened.

Halyna Hutchins was born in Ukraine and resided in Los Angeles.
