Before the big event, the Hannah Montana alum and Saturday Night Live star, 28, teased the NBC special while appearing on Tonight's Show Starring Jimmy Fallon together.
"One thing that I think he focuses on in the New Year season is what is to come, being optimistic, having hope about all these things that have not happened yet and that we have no proof that will happen," said Cyrus the December 9. With their New Years Eve party, Cyrus and the Meet Cute Star hoped to pay tribute to years gone by while also making the celebration feel fresh.
