Lady Gaga: they recover the singer's two dogs stolen in a violent assault in Los Angeles
Singer Lady Gaga's two French bulldogs that were stolen Wednesday night after an armed assailant shot a man walking the dogs in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Hollywood have been recovered.
As confirmed by media in the US, a woman took the animals to a police station. Apparently, she would have found them on the street.
Authorities have yet to apprehend the assailants who fired a semi-automatic pistol at Lady Gaga's dog walker to steal her dogs.
The victim was taken to the hospital and is recovering from her injuries.
Lady Gaga had offered a $500,000 reward for her dogs, but it is unclear if the woman who turned them over to police will receive the money.
It is not an isolated incident
It is not known if Lady Gaga's pets were stolen due to her owner's status or if it was a random or planned attack, due to the breed of dog involved.
And this is not the first incident involving French bulldogs. There have been several cases in the United States of violent theft of these animals.
In January, a woman in San Francisco was attacked at gunpoint by three men who ran away from her with her five-month-old puppy.
French bulldogs are very popular and in high demand, but they are very difficult to breed. They require artificial insemination, and the physical characteristics of the dog (a large head and shoulders) mean that puppies generally must be delivered from their mothers by cesarean section.
The price of a puppy can range from $2,000 to $10,000.
Lady Gaga is known to be extremely protective of her dogs, who accompanied her to the American Music Awards and her 2017 Super Bowl halftime show.
