EVA LONGORIA'S GIRLS SCENE CENSORED
The Barcelona Gay and Le*bian Film Festival has withdrawn from its programming the American film "Without Men" by Gabriela Tagliavini, starring Eva Longoria and which was to open the 11th edition of the festival, alleging that the film is being released with censorship in Spain.
The organization of the festival has informed that it withdraws from the program 'Without Men', by Gabriela Tagliavini due to the censorship of its distributor, who will release the film without that scene. The festival has replaced Tagliavini's film, which it qualifies as a "pro-le*bian allegation", for another le*bian film, 'Bumblef**k, USA', by Aaron Douglas Johnston, which will serve as the gate of the event on the 28th at the Film Archive of Catalonia .
The reason for the withdrawal of the film starring Longoria has been "the decision of the distributor of 'Without Men' in Spain to eliminate all the le*bian scenes in a new montage".
With this decision, "the viewer will not understand the film without the le*bian character played by Eva Longoria", declared the director of the Barcelona Gay Festival, the filmmaker Xavier-Daniel. "We interpret this decision as a way to censor an exaltation of le*bianism," he added.
The cast of the film also includes Christian Slater, Maria Conchita Alonso and Kate del Castillo.
