Natalie Dormer admits filming Game of Thrones love scenes is 'awkward' and 'embarrassing'

SHE’S had her fair share of them for her roles in Game of Thrones and The Scandalous Lady W, but Natalie Dormer has admitted filming love scenes can be quite "awkward".

The 33-year-old actress – who stars as Margaery Tyrell in the popular HBO series – has revealed she’s definitely not "laid-back" about jumping into bed with her co-stars.

Natalie opened up about her raunchy scenes and fitness regime in the December issue of Women’s Health UK.

"Anyone who says they’re laid-back about love scenes is a fibber," she told the magazine.

The blonde beauty admitted: "It never gets any less… not traumatic, that’s the wrong word, not embarrassing… it can be a bit awkward.

"The choreography of a lve scenes is so unse*y and unglamorous, it’s all about camera angles, you have to recreate the moment so many times. It’s just timing and technical.

The Reading-born star also revealed she was strict on herself when it came to working out.

"I don’t have a trainer. I’m entirely self-regimented... I place high demands on myself," she said. "After all, if you want to do something, do it properly, else what’s the point?

"I’m the kind of person who gets a kick out of physical exertion, when the endorphins kick in. You really feel like you’ve pushed your body and that’s quite refreshing in a role."

Natalie is set to resume her role as Cressida in the second instalment of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, which hits cinemas later this month.

Speaking of the transition from ultra-feminine Margaery to fearless Cressida, Natalie explained it was important for her to get in shape.

She said: "Especially when I’d been playing Margaery Tyrell for the six months previously – sitting around, talking machinations in a silk skirt.

"Then there I was two months later, dressed in army fatigues, with a half shaved head, running around with a gun with some of the most virile young men you can hope to find on the screen."

Natalie is currently filming for the highly-anticipated sixth season of Game Of Thrones in Belfast.
