Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello hit back at 'love bite like fish' comments with bizarre video
Loved up couple Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello have got tongues wagging with a VERY in-ti-ma-te video on social media, showing fans a little more than they bargained for
Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello have addressed rumours they kiss like fish by posting a video of themselves...kissing like fish.
Pop star Shawn posted the tonsil tennis video on Instagram , which showed him and his girlfriend Camila, also a pop star, kissing one another in the most over the top way with as much tongue involved as possible.
The (literally) tongue in cheek video begins with the couple thoughtfully addressing the accusations on Twitter that they kiss like fish. Shawn speaks to the camera while Camila nods and agrees, looking sad.
"It really hurt our feelings" says Camila.
"We just want to show you how we really kiss" says Shawn.
The couple then gaze into each others eyes as they move closer together, and Shawn places his hand on Camila's cheek.
Suddenly, they erupt into wide open-mouthed kissing, with tongues flying everywhere, mauling each others faces passionately.
They attempt their best fish impressions and rub their faces together with their lips sticking out.
At one alarming point Camila's tongue slips into Shawn's nostril and he licks her entire face.
Camila then bursts out laughing and the giggling pair pull back apart.
But there only appeared to be three Tweets which accused Shawn and Camila of kissing like fish before the now infamous video was posted.
In July, one user wrote "ok listen i’ve always fantasied over shawn mendes but now looking at how he kisses camila like a fish and literally eats her...sis" in July.
Another wrote "why shawn and camila kiss like that tho...they needa work on that lookin like some dead fish".
Another added "Shawn and camila are soo not or anyone who thinks they are is just ridiculous, they might kiss like fish and look weird together( cause we're used to seeing them as friends not lovers that's why) but I don't think they are faking it."
Hardly a pile on.
Fans reacted in horror to the video, which ended up trending on Twitter.
One declared "THIS IS PROBABLY THE MOST DISGUSTING THING IVE EVER SEEN", and another begged "Cancel them please".
Another said "It’s so grim what are they doing".
While one person said "they kiss like they just got their wisdom teeth out".
Another wrote "this is so embarrassing".
The pop power couple's famous friends flocked to show their appreciation for the video.
Singer songwriter Julia Michaels replied "Hahahahahhahahahah"
Smilarly, singer Charlie Puth wrote "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA", while former One Direction star Nial Horan posted a series of laughing face emojis.
Other responses saw the pair branded "couple goals", and the video "the cutest s*** on the internet".
