After a turbulent legal battle, the couple finally divorced in 1992. Ivana and the Trump clan
Unlike her daughter Ivanka, who is Donald Trump's real right-hand man, Ivana - who we continue to call "Ivana Trump" - does not carry out political actions alongside the Trump clan. However, she strongly supports the political ideas of her ex-husband. Last September Ivana also spoke out on Donald Trump's political ideas on immigration.
"I agree with him. I think Mexicans and people who immigrate are fine because they work and are decent people. But they have to come here legally, speak at least a little English and pay taxes I don't agree that when an 18 year old crosses the border pregnant and gives birth, the child is automatically American… Who pays for food and hospitality? Americans," she told the New York Post.
A subject on which the former supermodel also spoke out in the 70s, with much less restraint: “As long as you come here legally, with a real job … We need immigrants. Who's going to vacuum our living rooms and clean up after us? Americans don't like to do that."
Today, Ivana would like to become the United States Ambassador to the Czech Republic. So, no, she has never been in politics either, but whatever.
"It's where I come from, me and my accent and everyone knows me. Not just in America. I've written three books that have been translated into 25 languages and distributed in 40 countries. I'm known as Ivana's name. I don't even need Trump's name." she told the New York Post.
