Courtney Love: I have found missing Malaysia Airlines plane
Singer Courtney Love claims she has found a missing Malaysia Airlines plane – and has even given the exact co-ordinates as to where it may be.
The 49-year-old believes the jet may have crashed into the ocean off the south-west coast of Vietnam.
She made the potential discovery after looking at images on tomnod.com – a website which is displaying some images of the search area and urging people to help find the plane.
The musician, who was married to Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain before his suicide, revealed the theory in a Facebook post, which came accompanied by a photo she had labbled claiming to show oil and a plane.
She said: “I’m no expert but up close this does look like a plane and an oil slick.
“Prayers go out to the families #MH370 and it’s like a mile away Pulau Perak, where they “last” tracked it 53908.5”N 98’50’38.0”E but what do I know?”
The grab used by Love was listed as having been taken on March 12 and was not the only person to draw attention to the spot.
But Malaysian authorities will not be able to call off the search just yet as a spokesman from Tomond said it was not the missing jet after all.
He said: “Sometimes our eyes see what we want them to see.”
Since the images were uploaded to Tomnod, which is run by commercial satellite company DigitalGlobe, some 2.3 million people have scanned more than 15,000 sq miles of satellite imagery to help locate the jet.
