'Friends' stars shock - why they all 'hated Jennifer Aniston'
Jennifer Aniston may have caught much of the attention during the initial run of legendary sitcom Friends, but the actress also caught some heat backstage from her co-stars, according to a sensational report out of the US today.
Twenty five years after the show hit the big time, insiders are coming forward with some startling allegations about what allegedly really happened on set.
It seems Jen earned the jealousy of her fellow actors on the show, reports American publication Star, which outrageously alleges envy became a major issue backstage as the world obsessed over Aniston’s hairstyle and headline-grabbing ways. It seems that in the early days of the show’s success, the stars were anything but friends, with Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow described as ‘very jealous’ of Jen.
‘Everyone wanted to interview Jen, and her “Rachel” hair became such a phenomenon that it was the only thing people talked about,' claims the publication's source.
'They were supposed to be a team but all anyone cared about was Jen and her stupid hair. It got very annoying!’
But it wasn’t only the women who supposedly had an issue, with Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Matthew Perry also allegedly miffed for a while.
‘The boys gave her a hard time,’ alleges Star’s source, who further claims the two Matts for a time ‘made mean-spirited jokes at Jen’s expense.’
‘They felt she thought he was better than they were.’
However, any tensions quickly evaporated and the co-stars formed a united front both on and off set, famously negotiating salaries of $1 million per episode each.
‘They eventually realised the whole fame thing was out of their hands, and they grew up and grew closer as a cast.’
The cast remain friendly to this day. Indeed, things eventually got so cosy back in the day, that Matthew Perry allegedly had a fling with Jen. ‘Everyone was whispering about it,’ says Star's source.
The cast of the show have yet to comment on Star’s allegations.
It’s been an awkward few weeks of sensational headlines for Jennifer. According to another US report, police were recently called to the actresses’ posh home amid allegations of terrifying emergencies involving n-dity and drugs.
The National Enquirer, which claims to have done a records search under the Freedom of Information Act, says calls were made to the emergency number on April 18, 2018 - just two months after Jen announced she was separating from Justin Theroux.
The calls came after photos were published online the same day of Justin partying with a model in New York.
The publication claims that 911 records detail claims by a caller that ‘a female suspect wearing no clothing was in the garage at Jen’s Bel Air home and threatening a male victim with a possible knife’.
The caller also claimed that there was a history of trouble at the address.
Sources also allegedly told the publication that the former married couple were known to ‘have blow-ups’ and had a face-to-face showdown at the mansion on December 14, 2017.
Jen’s rep denied that this ever took place, but according to the Enquirer: ‘Justin removed himself from the situation… and checked into a hotel.’
Sources caution that the calls may have been scams.
‘Prank calls on celebrity homes happen regularly and a security team deals with the situation,’ the Enquirer’s source said.
