This is how the actress convinced Richard Gere to choose her as his partner
The famous romantic movie that premiered 25 years ago, 'Pretty Woman', gave us one of the most iconic couples in cinema. After more than two decades, we continue to hear stories of how things happened to make that great movie.
At the moment both are promoting their new works, Richard Gere participates in the movie 'Invisibles'; while Julia promotes the American version of the 'Secret of their Eyes'.
The actress conducted an interview in which she confessed what it was like to work with her husband, the director of photography Danny Moder, but she also talked about the memories she has of the film that launched her to fame and the great affection she has for the director of the same, Garry Marshall.
Roberts confessed that she was lucky that Marshall took her to Richard Gere's house so they could meet her, he had rejected her role because he couldn't find the perfect partner for her. Julia recounts that when she realized that Richard was still hesitating, she took a post-it and wrote “Please say yes” and gave it to him. At that moment he burst out laughing and gave the affirmative answer to the director. After she was encouraged to do that to get the job, they starred in a classic that has kept them united in a friendship ever since.
