'Time travel is hard.' Jennifer Aniston opens up on why she walked out of 'Friends' reunion special several times

Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston is well-known across the world for portraying the character Rachel Green in 1994 sitcom 'Friends' which was about six reckless adults living in Manhattan and what went on in their personal lives.

The show went for ten seasons before finally coming to an end in 2004. Earlier this year, the entire star cast of the popular TV show, including Aniston, Courteney Cox (Monica Geller), Matthew Perry (Chandler Bing), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay), Matt LeBlanc (Joey Tribbiani) and Davis Schwimmer (Ross Geller), were invited for a reunion special.

Months after the special show was broadcasted, Aniston revealed why she walked out of the 'Friends' reunion multiple times.

During a recent interview with Hollywood Reporter, the actress recalled walking out of the reunion special show of 'Friends' because it reminded her of the "hardest time" in her life. Aniston parted ways with her then-husband actor Brad Pitt a year after the hit show ended in 2004.

In her interview, Aniston shared that she was so happy getting back together with the rest of the cast of 'Friends', that she forgot the memories it holds for her.

"Time travel is hard," Aniston said. "I think we were just so naive walking into it, thinking, 'How fun is this going to be? They're putting the sets back together, exactly as they were'. Then you get there and it's like, 'Oh right, I hadn't thought about what was going on the last time I was actually here'."

Being back on the 'Friends' set reminded Aniston of that point in her life when she thought everything was going to be "just gorgeous".

"And it just took me by surprise because it was like, 'Hi, past, remember me? Remember how that sucked? You thought everything was in front of you and life was going to be just gorgeous and then you went through maybe the hardest time in your life?'," she recalled.

The actress revealed that while shooting for the reunion special, she walked out of the set several times as it was hard for her given she is a little "emotionally accessible".

"And of course, you've got cameras everywhere and I'm already a little emotionally accessible, I guess you could say. So I had to walk out at certain points. I don't know how they cut around it," Aniston said.

The actress also opened up about what she thought her life would be after the iconic show 'Friends' ended in 2004. The 52-year-old said that she had expected her professional career to be different after the show, but rather it was her personal stuff that shape-shifted, which was "jarring".

"It was more personal stuff that I had expectations about that sort of shape-shifted, so to speak," Aniston added. "That was what was jarring, that we all had an idea of what the future was going to be and we were going to go hunker down and focus on this or that and then it all just changed overnight, and that was it," she said.

However, the actress called her life's journey a blessing, with all its ups and downs.
