Amanda Holden "devastated" after being "reported to the police" for violation of COVID-19 rules

Britain's Got Talent judge broke rules after receiving 'distressing phone call', her agent says

Amanda Holden has been left "devastated" after she was allegedly reported to the police for violating lockdown rules.

The Britain's Got Talent judge traveled from her home in London to her parents' home in Cornwall, after receiving a "distressing" phone call from her father.

According to The Sun, neighbors of Holden's parents allegedly "reported the reality star to the police" upon her arrival in the area.

In a statement, Holden's agent said "all things considered" her client felt the trip was necessary.

"Amanda is aware that all families are experiencing difficulties during these turbulent times, but she received a distressing phone call from her father on Friday afternoon," the statement said.

She added that Holden did not "act on a whim" and has otherwise followed coronavirus lockdown measures "every step of the way."

"Amanda is aware of the travel rules and she is devastated that she had to break them on this one occasion," they added.

Holden's agent also said that the star's parents were vaccinated against the coronavirus and that Holden did not interact with anyone else during her trip.

Holden, who hosts a show on Heart Radio, is now back in London.

Last year, Holden released a version of "Over the Rainbow", with all proceeds going to NHS Charities Together. The charity supports staff and volunteers working on the front lines during the pandemic.
