Jennifer Lawrence has opened up about the surprising reason she and Meryl Streep almost fell out on the set of upcoming film Don't Look Up - and it's all thanks to a pretty funny misunderstanding.
J Law and Meryl star alongside each other in the new Netflix film, with Jennifer playing a low level astronomer attempting to warn the world about a lethal asteroid heading towards Earth, while Meryl stars as President Janie Orlean.
The movie features a tonne of other huge names, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, Timothée Chalamet and Ariana Grande, and it turns out the cast came close to offending Meryl on set.
Describing one *huge* misunderstanding, Jennifer opened up about how the cast "offhandedly call Meryl the GOAT," aka the 'greatest of all time', in a new interview on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
Explaining how Meryl hilariously misunderstood the phrase, J Law added, "We were doing a photoshoot and I said something like 'GOAT' and Meryl kind of said, 'That’s right. Just tell the old goat where to go.'"
"I was like, 'Meryl, you know that GOAT means greatest of all time, right?’ And she was like, ‘Oh, no!'" Jennifer jokingly continued. "And we were like 'we haven’t just been calling you goat this whole time!'"
However, it turns out all was well as Meryl (thankfully) wasn't offended. Jen explained, "She was just like, 'oh well, I guess you know, like an old goat.' [She] really took it on the chin."
Well, you learn something new every day, right Meryl?"
