Kristen Stewart & Robert Pattinson Could Be Reuniting On-Screen
Find out if former “Twilight” co-stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are reuniting for a new movie — one director wants them back together on-screen.
Are Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson stepping back into their roles as Bella and Edward and heading back to Forks for Twilight Part 6? Well, not quite — but if a director who has worked with both stars in the past gets his way, we could see the former movie couple reunite on-screen.
In a recent interview, director David Cronenberg, who just worked with Kristen on his new movie Crimes of the Future, said he'd love to see Rob and Kristen work together again. He previously worked with Rob on 2012's Cosmopolis and 2014's Maps to the Stars.
“It was Robert who actually introduced me to Kristen. They have developed beautifully, separately, as actors. Making arthouse movies and successfully carrying that off. Kristen and I had a great time and Rob and I had a great time," he told World of Reel. "For me, yeah, I can definitely think of a movie, or idea, that would be great to have them both together. I don’t want to get into it because it wouldn’t be my next movie, however, it might be problematic since fans might expect a certain kind of relationship and that would get in the way of creating new characters for them."
The actors probably wouldn't want to play another Edward and Bella-style couple, given the pandemonium surrounding the original films and the chaos it created in their personal lives. They've both got full plates of projects, but we'd be lying if we said we wouldn't be interested in seeing the two on-screen together again. Both have shown their diverse acting chops in projects like Spencer and The Lighthouse, not to mention this year's The Batman.
Let's not get our hopes up for an immediate Robsten reunion, though. "It’s only theoretical for now," said Cronenberg. It's all just a possibility, but a strong possibility!
