Katy Perry got matching tattoo with fans

Katy Perry really loves her fans.

The singer, 34, is gearing up to release her new single “Never Really Over” on Thursday night, but a few lucky obsessives got a sneak peek at the pop star’s first solo release in two years and a permanent reminder of the moment.

On Wednesday, Perry hosted a YouTube Fan Experience at the YouTube Space in LA, where she played the new song and accompanying music video, both of which will not be released until 9 p.m. on Thursday. Following a Q&A moderated by choreographer Kyle Hanagami, we’re told several lucky fans got matching tattoos with Perry.

“@katyperry thank u for being the most adorable & lovely person of the world,” one fan, Matheus Rodrigues, captioned photos with the pop star. He also revealed that it was his first tattoo ever.

Perry and Rodrigues (as well as the other fans) each got one half of a broken heart tattooed on the outside of their hands; Perry’s half had the word “miss” written in script on the inside while her fan’s read “you.” Page Six has confirmed the tattoos were done by Shamrock Social Club tattoo artists and Perry’s was inked by East Ya.

The broken heart is part of the design for the new single, which also features a yin and yang symbol and a sun.

This is hardly the first time that Perry has commemorated an album or song release with permanent ink. In fact, she has a vast tattoo collection that she adds to at the end of every musical tour. She has a strawberry, a peppermint swirl, a cartoon rainbow triangle and a Saturn eye for her One of the Boys, California Girls, Prism and Witness tours. She also has the roman numerals XLIX tattooed on her finger to commemorate her 2015 Super Bowl performance.

Perry typically flies out the celebrity tattoo artist known as Bang Bang at the end of every tour for weeks, so that he can design an idea that defines the era of music and the tour. He then inks tour crew members, dancers and production team members with the matching design. At the completion of the Witness tour, 45 people had identical tattoos.
