While she promotes her latest film Trainwreck, the actress took the opportunity to reflect back on the moment she became famous from that infamous prank.
Speaking to BBC Radio One's Scott Mills, Amy revealed the reason why she thinks that the lavish couple chose not to help her up when she pounced on the floor.
She said: "They knew I was an idiot and I completely respect their reaction.
"I don’t think they said anything. I think they looked at each other like “Let’s get out of here. This girl sucks.""
Most celebrities could not think of anything worse than falling over at a star-studded event so they would never dream of forcing themselves to the ground.
But Amy being the joker that she is did not care and pretended to collapse in front of the A-listers - even when dressed in an elegant blue gown!
Kimye, who were dressed in matching black outfits, did not know if it was deliberate or not but either way they chose to move past the blonde bombshell as she lay across the red carpet in Lincoln Center in New York City.
Although Kim managed to crack a slight smile at the fall, Kanye remained expressionless - as usual - while Amy's head burrowed into the floor.
At the time Amy was asked if the prank was pre-planned but she insisted that it was a spare of the moment thing and she took the opportunity while it was there.
She said: "It was very in the moment. It’s so funny that it became such a big thing.
"I had no idea because my phone died and when I got home, my friends were like, “You’re trending in Dubai!” And I was like, “What?!”’
And speaking to Graham Norton back in June, the actress said that she saw “Kim and Kanye standing there, just owning it, just being short and important.”
She added: “Falling is the funniest thing, so I took a dive in front of them.”
Meanwhile, the actresses latest film Trainwreck has earned a massive $30.2 million in its opening weekend.
The comedy, featuring an ensemble cast, is now on form to smash its budget of $35m since its release on Friday.
With a UK release still on the horizon, the film is already being deemed a success after exceeding initial projections of a $20 million opening weekend.
