Actress Jennifer Lawrence, catapulted to fame after winning an Oscar last year for the film "Silver Linings Playbook" and starring in "The Hunger Games" franchise, tops the list of the most influential people in the film industry, according to Variety.
The publication highlights the versatility of Lawrence, capable of alternating the highest-grossing titles with prestigious productions, such as "American Hustle", a film for which he has already been nominated for a Golden Globe and a SAG, and for which he aspires to a second consecutive Oscar nomination, the third of his career at just 23 years old.
Variety also includes other names in this year's race on its list, such as the Mexican filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón. Of him, he points out that "with 'Gravity', the director showed that not everything is invented". Other influential characters are James Gandolfini or Oprah Winfrey.
