The actress has granted an interview in which she breaks her silence about her separation from the protagonist of 'Top Gun'
Her relationship with Tom Cruise placed Katie Holmes at the center of the media spotlight. The couple of actors married in November 2006 in a massive wedding held in Italy, a link that became the event of the year. Little more than five years later, in the summer of 2012, they announced their separation. Fruit of their marriage was born Suri Cruise, who is already 14 years old.
Now, eight years after her divorce, the protagonist of the series Dawson Grows, who does not usually talk about her private life, has granted an interview to the American magazine InStyle in which she breaks her silence and confesses how her breakup with the protagonist was from Top Gun.
The 41-year-old interpreter has starred on the cover of the April issue of the well-known publication. "As a public person, I have always received a lot of attention, in different periods of my life," Katie Holmes has reflected on her relationship with her fame, even confessing that she prevented her from leaving the house on several occasions. She looks like she's already over it. "You can feel consumed by what people say, but suddenly you decide to do things on your own terms. I'm getting to do the projects I've always wanted to do and relaxing a bit. I can't believe it!" actress, who is in one of her best moments.
Regarding the separation of her daughter's father, the Batman Begins actress has confessed that it was the reason why she moved to New York City. A decision that she, over time, has seen that she was successful, as she confesses that she loves the city of skyscrapers.
"It was an intense time, of constant scrutiny. I had a lot of attention and on top of that I had a little girl to take care of," she explained. The interpreter has told in the aforementioned magazine some of the measures she had to take to free her daughter from media pressure: she went with little Suri to the park "at six in the morning" so that neither photographers nor onlookers would see them.
"Despite the bad times, we have also had fun times. Many unknown people became my friends and helped me and my daughter a lot. That's what I love about this city," added Tom Cruise's ex-wife. Katie Holmes has made these statements a few months after breaking her discreet relationship with fellow actor Jamie Foxx, with whom she had been dating since 2013.
