Amy Adams confesses to crush on Leonardo DiCaprio on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

Well suited! Amy Adams shows how to make work wear chic as she confesses to a huge crush on Leonardo DiCaprio

Turns out Hollywood stars are really just like us - at least their teenage crushes are.

Amy Adams was once again on the promotional trail for her new film Nocturnal Animals.

Despite a long night with both the movie's premier and an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert - where she confessed to a teen crush - the 42-year-old was ready to take on Friday and looked great doing it in New York.

The star joined her fellow Nocturnal Animals castmates to meet with fans and discus the Tom Ford-directed feature.

For the event, Amy dressed in a very ready-for-the-office look featuring wide legged pinstriped grey pants.

The Arrival actress paired the trousers with a collar-less silver silk shirt which provided the perfect backdrop for her flame locks.

Amy's red mane was styled to one side and cascaded over her shoulder in glossy waves.

Laughing away at fans' questions, the star did not show a hint of tiredness.

The actress has been on a non-stop promotional tour for the film and on Thursday night stopped by The Late show to chat with Stephen Colbert.

There the star confessed she once dreamed of having a romance Leo.

She told the host: 'I had a huge crush on Leonardo DiCaprio. Not in Titanic, though, but in Growing Pains. Yeah, he was like super young and really pretty.'

Stephen asked the star if she had ever told her Catch Me If You Can co-star about her feelings or was he finding out via Thursday's show.

Amy replied: 'This is probably how I'm telling him. '

But it's all over now: 'I've worked with him, I've worked with him! Because nothing really kills a crush faster than working with somebody.

'Not in a bad way! Just sort of like in a great way! ''That was over!''

'Like you get to know him and it's not like the fantasy of the person anymore. Now it's Leo.'

In Nocturnal Animals, Amy's character runs a successful art gallery in Los Angeles, but finds her life in disarray when her jilted ex-husband sends her a violent book dedicated to her.

Jake Gyllenhaal plays the ex-husband, while Armie Hammer plays her character's current spouse. Laura Linney puts in an appearance as her brittle, cocktail-swilling mother.

Having already screened at the Venice, Toronto BFI London film festivals, it is released in the US on Friday.
